  1. What is your current CYA instructor level? When did you obtain this level and will you be acquiring another level in the spring?
     
  2. What is your highest swimming certification? When did you obtain this level? Does your lifesaving certification need re-certifying? If yes, will you be acquiring your recertification in the spring, or taking a new level in the spring?
     
  3. State the background of your experience teaching sailing, including the number of years you have taught, the levels you have taught, the age range of the students you have taught and what types of boats were used?
     
  4. List your roles and responsibilities from your past teaching experience including any outside of teaching (boat maintenance, site maintenance, etc.).
     
  5. Outside of teaching sailing, do you have any other teaching experience, experience dealing with children in a supervisory or leadership role, or other experience that would lend itself to teaching sailing and leading camp programs? Please state all the details.
     
  6. What is the extent of your sailing/racing experience, starting from your learn-to-sail levels?

    2. What types of boats have you sailed?
    3. How much sailing have you done outside of your learn-to-sail levels?
    4. Do you race? How much, at what level and in what types of boats? List any regatta results of significance.
    5. How much sailing/racing do you plan to do this summer?
       
  7. How do you see sailing in your future?
     
  8. The Head Instructor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day program planning and sailing lesson planning. What skills, experience or educational background do you have that will lend to these responsibilities?
     
  9. The Head Instructor will deal with enquiries of parents and GRYC members. What qualities and experience do you have to ensure you do so in a professional manner?
     
  10. As Head Instructor, how would you deal with instructor discipline problems, such as arriving late or not being prepared to teach? What policy would you put in place with regard to student discipline problems? Finally how would you foster a team environment amongst the instructors?
     
  11. How would you prevent instructor burnout? Should and instructor become burnt-out, how would you handle it?
     
  12. How would you deal with a personal conflict between instructors that is having a negative effect on the camp or on either of the individuals teaching?
     
  13. How would you promote and develop youth sailing at all levels; instill a love for the sport in the students; and encourage the progression to higher learn-to-sail levels?
     
  14. What is experience and knowledge in boat repair? What are you capable of doing and how would you rate your skills?
     
  15. How would maintain a high level of boat maintenance and make sure boats in all classes are promptly and properly fixed? How would you minimize equipment failure?
     
  16. How would the GRYC Sailing Summer Camp benefit by having you as an employee?
     
  17. Please state whether your first language is French of English, and your level of competence in understanding and speaking the other language.
